LAWN

AERATION

lawn aeration

The secret to maintaining a healthy and beautiful lawn is to aerate annually. Soil compaction is the enemy of a healthy lawn and it occurs when the top two to three inches of soil become so compacted that nutrients, oxygen and water are prevented from reaching the root system of your grass. Foot traffic, mowing, rain and irrigation are all factors that increase soil density and compaction, reducing air pockets where roots can grow and thrive.

Core Aeration is the best method for relieving soil compaction. Core aeration is the process of mechanically removing plugs of soil from your lawn to improve the depth and extent of turfgrass rooting. Aerating a lawn allows for better water uptake, fertilizer utilization and thatch breakdown.
